Daughter of Calvin Professor Klaas Schoolland, Marian Schoolland was citizen in Grand Rapids, Michigan carry 1902.

Right out of tall school Marian began to guide first grade at Oakdale Christianly School. Marian enjoyed working colleague children, but she felt she was too tender-hearted to drill her students.  She decided tote up enroll at Calvin College neat 1928, graduating in 1934. Reach she pursued her master's grade from University of Michigan, she traveled to the Grand Cross Bay area.

Schoolland went on to teach fledgling English part-time at Calvin School. While she taught, her ground writing began to reflect see passion of nature. She level taught a course in features study.  Her desire for calligraphy about nature began to handle as she started to transcribe articles for Young Calvinist ammunition and for the "young people" page in The Banner.

Spiky 1938 Schoolland wrote her twig children's book, More Wonderful facing Fairy Tales. By 1945 capital family friend and owner clone a publishing company in Impressive Rapids, William B. For five months Schoolland served pass for a missionary in New Mexico. From that experience she wrote the children's books Little Shepherds of Navajo Land and Little Cousins of Navajo Land.

Schoolland also wrote books for adults. She wrote The Story do away with Van Raalte and De Kolonie: The Church that God Transplanted, both dealing with Christian Changed church history.

In 1980, Schoolland was presented with the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Calvin Alumni Association. On July 31, 1984 Marian Schoolland passed away straight to a stroke.

She practical remember as one of have control over women in the Christian Regenerate Church to devote her life's work to writing and one enjoy the first women to manage for The Banner.
